As a society, the UK has been over-dependent on fossil fuels
and we have been getting away with this “addiction” for far
too long. Many energy experts believe we will soon suffer
from an energy crisis, not only because energy prices are
predicted to rise massively over the next 20 years, but also
because the imbalance between energy supply and demand
could result in widespread power cuts! The Russia-Ukraine
crisis can only contribute to a possible reduction in the gas

supply, especially in Central and South Eastern Europe.

As the summer season is at its golden end and the cold
weather is gradually upon us, it’s now time to re-discover the
art of making the most of our available sources of energy.
This is becoming increasingly
important as a blackout alert

by the media and emergency
measures may be introduced

to prevent the lights going out
this winter in the UK. To be
more specific, businesses may
be offered compensation to
shut down for four hours a day,
between 4 pm and 8 pm, on any
day between November and
February.
